The Lehigh County Conservation District, in partnership with the Penn State Extension, Lehigh County Authority, Upper Macungie Township, Heidelberg Township, Lowhill Township, and Weisenberg Township provided workshops for homeowners about rain barrels and the importance of managing stormwater runoff. Each participant received their FREE rain barrel, accessories, and informational brochures at contactless pick-up events over the past several weeks.

Approximately 200 rain barrels have been distributed. If you are interested in obtaining a rain barrel to minimize stormwater runoff and non-point source water pollution reaching our local waterways, contact our Environmental Educator, Laura Hopek, at LHopek@LehighConservation.org

Financial and other support for this project is provided by the Pennsylvania Association of Conservation Districts, Inc. through a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
